Premier League giants Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho insists that Spain international midfielder Juan Mata was happy with his contribution in the Community Shield win over defending English champions Leicester City.
Former Chelsea playmaker was brought on as a substitute and then was one again subbed in the closing moments, looking distinctly unimpressed with the decision at the time. However, Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho has played down talk that Spaniard is unhappy at Old Trafford, following speculation linking the former Chelsea man with a move to Everton.
‘He was very happy that he was my first choice to come on to the pitch in a difficult moment of the game for us after we conceded a goal,’ Mourinho said to Express.
‘At that moment Mata was the first player to be called up to play and played 25 minutes.
‘He was really happy with his contribution.’
Meanwhile, Everton still continues to chase Spain international playmaker who was one of the best performers at Red Devils last season helped them to finish fifth in the Premier League table and win FA Cup.
